Make an online car data check before you part with your money

Before you part with your hard earned cash to buy that bargain used car you should first take the time to make an online car data check. A car data check will reveal whether you are indeed getting a bargain or if you are buying nothing but trouble and perhaps even an illegal car. While there are many honest people out there who just want to find their car a good home there are also many who take full advantage of selling online and have no scruples when it comes to passing on a car that has finance attached to it or has been stolen.
There is much information that can be gained from a search. For example the search will reveal the make, model and colour of the car, if the car has changed colour, had a different number plate and how many owners the car has actually had during its lifetime.
While the majority of cars that are sold online are totally legitimate and are genuinely being sold by loving owners, some people will take advantage of selling a car online that has a very dubious past. Many of the 30 cars a day that are stolen turn up online as second hand cars and unless you made an online car data check before buying you would never know. Of course if a car has been stolen then you would have to turn it over to its original owner at your expense and of course by this time the seller will be nowhere to be found. Cars that are stolen can be cloned, it will be given a false registration and vehicle identification number and this means that the car takes on the identity of a legitimate car.
Cars that have been involved in a serious accident and are seen to be too badly damaged to be repaired are scrapped. The insurance company will write-off the car and pay out the insurance policy for it, however some of these cars then go on to be repaired and are sold as a used car online. Again you would have no indication of this unless you were to have a car data check made on the car, a data check will compare the vehicle identification number and give you the report straight away.
Getting a car data check is quick and easy all that is needed is the vehicle identification number and the vehicle registration mark, from this you can get a whole host of information regarding the used car that you are considering buying. The vehicle identification number can be found in several different places on the car so checking for this can give you a good indication as to if things are above board. Some cars that have been in an accident have been known to have been welded together as one car, so if you find more than one number while looking the car over this is a good indication that the car is not what it seems. The car might be totally legitimate and it might be a good bargain but unless you take the time to have a check made you will never know.
