Used Volvo V70 T5 cars for sale

Volvo cars claim to practice something called corporate citizenship. This ultimately seems to boil down to making things very safe in a way that won’t upset tree-huggers, and making a big noise about it at the same time. Perhaps that’s a bit harsh because they really seem to mean it. Anyway, not a single one of you will have raised an eyebrow at the above because you already knew that Volvo cars were very safe. Crash a Volvo into a tree and the tree comes off worse.

But in tomorrow’s world, it’s not just about crumple zones and SIPS. Consider these safety devices that feature on Volvo cars: a light on your wing mirror that tells you when something is in your blind spot; a system that stops your phone ringing when you’re in the middle of an accident-type situation; water-repellent glass; whiplash-reducing seats that swivel back and down if you are shunted from the rear; side-impact airbags; automatic instant alerts to operators, with GPS info, if the airbags deploy. The last one is astonishing. It means that someone knows you’re in trouble probably before your car has stopped moving.

In a sense, it actually doesn’t matter what Volvo cars themselves are actually like. Their safety is a selling point all by itself. It doesn’t hurt that they are actually very attractive to look at in all their variations, they suffer very little depreciation, and they are well made. So, out of all the Volvo cars, what’s our favourite? The S60 – perhaps even over an Audi or a BMW for around the same £25,000 – it’s just….very nice indeed, like their company policies.
