Perodua cars are designed for city life. Small and unassuming, they offer a utilitarian solution to the problems of congestion and parking, and they don’t try to woo you with unnecessary fripperies like central locking. To the austere mindset of Perodua cars, such things are mere marketing ploys to distract you from really essential features like wheels and an engine.
We have two models available for comparison here, the Kenari and the Kelisa. The Kenari is taller, so passengers have more head room. That’s just about where the good news ends. Perodua cars lose about 70% of their value after three years which is a shocking figure. The ride quality is poor, and made worse by miniature wheels. There are negligible creature comforts for the driver. The engine is weak and the body light, which means that on the motorway Perodua cars are eternally consigned to the slow lane where passing lorries can waft them into the scenery.
Well, at least they are cheap, coming in at just over £5,000. On the other hand, think what sort of used car you could get for £5,000. Actually, if you are thinking about buying one of these Perodua cars, that’s our advice. Think what sort of used car you could get for £5,000. Trust us, it’ll be better than these.
