If you want a flashy sports car that is exclusive, and provides exceptional performance, you may wish to look at the Mercedes-Benz SL Class. However, you need deep pockets to buy and run the car, but it is very sleek. So is it worth the outlay? • All the Mercedes SL range has elegant looks and style on the interior and exterior; • the Mercedes-Benz SL Class 350 goes from standstill to 62 MPH in 6.2 seconds; • On average you might get around 28 MPG; • The Mercedes SL offers a very relaxing drive when on the motorway, yet surprisingly agile around town; • adequate space for two, although getting in and out may pose a problem unless you are agile; • very quiet interior when the roof is up; • 310 litres of boot space with the roof up, reduced to 206 when down; • even the base SL model comes fitted with comprehensive trims and essential luxuries; Safety measures that are fitted as standard on the Mercedes-Benz SL Class include driver and passenger airbags, along with head/thorax protection. There is also roll over protection for convetibles which pops up as standard in a crash. Electronic driver aids are also fitted as standard. Overall this is a lovely all round sports car with massive performance however the SL range can date quite quickly.
