There are two Maybach cars listed on our pages – the 57 and the 62, the difference between them being length and therefore price. A glance at our specifications will tell you that the 57 is 5.7 metres long. The 62 is, you’ve guessed it, 6.2 metres long. Apart from that they are very much the same car.
So what would make you fork out £255,000 pounds for a Maybach (or £298,000 if you want the extra half-metre)? The answer is sheer opulence and effortless oomph. The V12 twin-turbo engine provides a ready surge of power up to the electronically limited top speed while the rear-seats (with embedded surround sound speakers) recline to let you guzzle champagne with your legs extended horizontally. Rear-passengers each have a TV screen to play with and there’s oodles of wood and leather on pretty much every available surface.
In fact, there’s so much going on in these Maybach cars that it’s hard to know where to begin listing the extras. Folding tables for each rear seat. Speedo, clock and temperature gauge in the roof for the passengers’ amusement. Electro-transparent sunroof switching from clear glass to opaque at the touch of a button. Champagne glass holders. Ambient lighting. If you looked up the word sumptuous in the dictionary you really would half-expect to see a picture of a Maybach car in there.
Our advice? Sell the house, live in the Maybach.
