The only offering from Dodge cars to make it to these shores is the mighty Dodge Viper SRT10 convertible, which will set you back an equally mighty £77,500. Featuring a modified 8.3 litre V10 truck engine developing 500 brake horsepower, the Viper can certainly sprint: 0-60 in under 4 seconds and a top end over 190 mph is testament to that. Dodge cars are so taken with the simple idea of its big powerful engine that they have decided to put back in one variant of their Ram trucks – almost exactly back where it came from, in fact. It’s a pity we won’t see the Ram on these shores, as it’s the world’s fastest production pick-up and looks as insane as it sounds.

But back to the Viper. If you compare it to other sports convertibles, it looks a lot bigger, not so much in length but in the sheer width – 6 foot 3 inches of it, to be precise. That’s almost as wide as a Testarossa, and they are seriously wide. If Dodge set out to make a visual statement there is no doubt they have succeeded.

In the US, Dodge cars are well known as a producer of muscle cars, and the Dodge Viper is almost the perfect epitome of the American muscle car – a big machine with a massive displacement and huge performance. Are you big enough to take one on?
