Chevrolet cars are part of the General Motors company, and they first began producing vehicles in 1912, positioning themselves as a cheaper alternative to the Ford Model T. They quickly proved popular with the American public and have sold strongly throughout their history.

We have several types of new Chevrolet cars on review here. The Chevrolet Corvette of course needs no introduction, but the earliest examples of this well-known model lacked power and decent handling, besides costing more than the Jaguars of the time. Only a rapid and much-needed makeover saved them from early retirement, and pretty soon they were able to brag about the world’s best power-to-weight ratio of a production car. The Corvette C6 featured here made it to Car And Driver magazine’s ‘Ten Best’ ratings of 2005, and was nominated for the North American Car Of The Year Award 2005. Chevrolet cars deliberate policy of simple but powerful technology and cheaper pricing than more exotic yet similarly performing rivals have made this car a perennial winner with the American public.

You might think the other Chevrolet cars we feature would be pretty much unknown on the UK shores, but you’d be wrong. GM recently bought out Daewoo to get their hands on more fuel-economic technology, so you’ll be seeing a lot of Chevrolet cars on sale bearing the names Matiz, Kalos, Lacetti and Tacuma from now on. This has also enabled Chevrolet cars to make an instant ‘in’ into the UK car market so we can expect to find yet more American-badged cars making their way here in the near future. Which means all the more choice for the discerning public!
