Topics  Are Car Dealers still useful?
Votes: (0)
With sites like this and Autotrader, Parkers etc... Are Car Dealers a dying breed? I've not used one for the last two car purchases I have made. I would imagie they would agrue that as they have direct access to the manufacturers that they would get good deals but is that really the case. I would think sites that sell volume would also get good rates and deals.

Hi Smithy, Are you talking about new or used car dealers? I think you're talking about new car dealers as used car dealers have a very important role to play in the UK automotive market. I like the experience of going to test drive a car and having that customer service back up incase anything goes wrong. Most people i know do research online and then go down to a dealer once they have located a vehicle online.

Used car dealers are definately still useful. They offer peace of mind and support if anything goes wrong. Well the one i use does.

But only if its a proper one. I bought a car from a "dealer" with an old caravan at the end of a bit of ground. It was a dog. Serves me right. Bought one from a proper franchised dealer. Perfect and great after sales too (Tempest Ford in Lichfield). Have bought a few from them. Always good cars and good service. By private or from Dodgy Motors and your asking for trouble. Stick to the official franchise ones as the car makers check the quality of the used side too

if we put the facts together the internet is doing 80% of the search work for us.....the last 20 % is just the touching and feeling part.....but really shopping at a Car Dealer is not necessary....these days you have good website or search engines for cars or used cars only like http://cars.trovit.co.uk/ I got this website recommended by my colleague and it did the most of the work.... But then again this is my opinion and I cant speak for others Grts, Moessy
