Nissan Cars
Nissan cars, which used also to be badged as Datsuns, have proven pretty good at two things. Firstly they make very useful examples of both types of off-roaders – the types that are absolutely no good for off-roading like the Nissan Murano, and the type that are very good at off-roading, like the Nissan Patrol. At first glance this might seem like a criticism of the Murano, but no. There are no bad Nissan cars, and the Murano is the car of which Jeremy Clarkson once said: “Honestly, I cannot think of a single thing wrong with it” and awarded it 5 stars. That’s very high praise indeed.
The other thing Nissan cars do well is high performance. Whilst we are going to have to wait until 2007 for the next installment of the legendary GTR series, we can nevertheless make do with the 350Z in the meantime. OK, it’s not quite supercar standard, but it will do 0-60 in under six seconds and race on to 155 miles per hour. That’s fast enough for most purposes and it starts at under £26,000, so compared to some sports cars of similar performance it’s a steal. Nissan cars are nothing if not competitively priced and around £1,000 more will get you the convertible version. Although this shaves half a second off the 0-60 time, it’ll probably feel faster with the wind in your hair.
In summary, the full range of Nissan cars we list here are generally very safe choices. Then there are the exceptional ones we highlight above, which have a great deal to recommend them.
