SummaryAverage. Japanese small people-carrier without the style of the Renault Scenic or Citroen Picasso. Not a bad product, but compare discounts with rivals'. |
ReviewThe Space Star is a sensible, if unexciting, way of carrying a family and their luggage. Typical Japanese virtues of reliability and dependability, but little in the way of character. The diesel version, which actually uses a Renault engine, is the pick of the bunch: economical (40mpg plus) and reasonably powerful. Not as stylish as European rivals, so compare prices carefully. There are good discounts available from Citroen and Renault, so make sure you are not paying more for the less desirable Mitsubishi. If you view cars like you view domestic appliances (the most practicality and the least hassle for a given budget) you could do a lot worse.
