SummaryRecommended. A sumptious luxury saloon with enormous standard equipment and superb build quality. Only slightly stodgy driving dynamics and strange, slab-sided styling let it down. |
ReviewThe LS makes a convincing claim for the title of the world's most luxurious car. Every conceivable extra is fitted as standard, plus some it would be difficult to dream up - like air vents that automatically motor backwards and forwards. It would take thousands of pounds of optional extras to bring the Lexus's direct rivals close on equipment. The LS is supremely comfortable over long distances thanks to a smooth ride and exemplary sound insulation, the potent V8 engine sounds whisper quiet, even under hard acceleration. Handling responses are accurate but uninvolving - this is definitely a car for relaxed progress rather than a backroad attack.
