SummaryAverage. Groundbreaking technology means the Insight runs on both a petrol engine and electric motor. Very economical but lack of space is a major issue. |
ReviewThe Insight has a standard 1.0 petrol engine under the bonnet that in turn charges an electric motor to power the car. The result is an extremely frugal vehicle that is surprisingly quick - with unusual looks thrown in. The Insight's biggest problem is that the electrical equipment eats into cabin space and leaves you with no more room than a two-seater. The price is high and secondhand values aren't good but at least you'll be the talk of the street and feel environmentally friendly with it. The same technology is available in the Civic IMA, which is a much more practical offering.
