Getting the most from your new or used car

30/04/2008
It can be easy to obtain the right car finance package, one expert has suggested, but motorists need to be aware that saving money on fuel is up to them.

Earlier this week, Mark Warne advised in an article for Best Syndication that many people are now able top obtain car finance through a bad credit car loan and this can be done easily and quickly.

"[The loan] procedures take an average time of a few working days. Once the deal is final the amount is instantly transferred to your personal bank account," he said.

However, Jennifer Derrick of savingadvice.com advised that to make your new or used vehicle more economical it was important to take on board some useful tips.

She said that slowing down can be one simple method to cut down on fuel consumption, adding that most cars perform best on the motorway at around 60mph.

"As you go above that, your fuel economy drops rapidly," she said.

Keeping filters clean, air and tyre pressure in check and otherwise keeping a vehicle fully maintained was also noted as the cheapest way to run a new or used car after it has left the forecourt.
