Summary

Average. Funky cabriolet version of the Ford Ka supermini that offers entry level open-top motoring and taut agile handling. Let down by dated cabin and loud, thrashy engine.

Review

The Streetka is a derivative of the excellent Ford Ka platform, designed and manufacturered by Pininfarina in Italy. With the roof up it is claustrophobic and dark to drive, but with the canvas stowed it becomes instantly light and airy. Performance is reasonable, but the 1.6 petrol engine can't deliver the effort its quoted 95 bhp rating leads you to expect. Handling is considerably more laid-back than the hardcore Sportka hatch, but is still fun. Weakest part of the package is the grey, cheap-looking Ka cabin - effectively unchanged since 1996.
