SummaryAverage. One of the alleged compact people carriers which is actually a van with windows. Painless to own and drive, but basic 1.2 petrol engine is chronically underpowered, making the 1.9 JTD the sensible choice. |
ReviewTough construction and massive amounts of space come as standard with the Doblo. The cartoonish styling looks slightly silly, but it's easy to drive thanks to light controls, good visibility and a comfortable ride. The 'base' engine, a 1.2 litre petrol is totally unsuited for the job in hand, as attested by the 19 seconds to 60 mph time. The JTD turbodiesel unit is far better - as is the 1.3 Multijet.
