SummaryRecommended. If space isn't an issue then the baby BMW is an enjoyable car to drive - latest versions have smart looks too. A small executive coupe that oozes quality. |
ReviewThe first step on the BMW ownership ladder comes in the shapely form of the Compact. While at first glance it looks pricey, this car is wonderfully entertaining and as well put together as bigger Beemers. It lines up against the new Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe to offer junior execs a mouth-watering taste of the BMW experience. The entry-level 316 is a cost effective deal but standard equipment is lacking. Opt for the 2.0 turbodiesel for the best mix of performance and economy. Only the powerful 325 versions look completely over budget.
